- Investing in Mining Sector. Lately Global Gold Mining - GGM (USA) has invested 6,5 m USD in mining prospects, the investments will attain 9,6 m before the end of 2006. In 2004 GGM obtained a license for mining in Tukhamanuk, Hankavan, Guetik, and Marjan regions. Mining in Tukhamanuk region is almost completed, and 75 000 tons of ore will be extracted this year. 6 grams of gold and 12 grams of silver can be obtained from 1 000 tons of ore. At the present time, the company does not pursue the intention of prospecting uranium, because in this order a separate license from the Armenian government is needed. Last year, the Global Gold Mining Company (GMM) purchased Atelia Investment Company’s shares of the Guetik area, thus owning 80% of the shares.
