-  Renovation of Zvartnots Airport.
Recent renovations of Zvartnots Airport are under way. The remodeling will be made according to the international standard of aviation ; the airport will have the capacity to handle 2 million passengers instead of 1,2 million. The new departure hall will be in use in September of 2006, while the new waiting area will be put in use in the spring of 2007. Furthermore, all runways have been renewed : 40 000 tons of asphalt was needed for the job. The renovation plans, in general, will be completed by the end of 2012 ; 30 Armenian and 18 foreign contractors are taking part in the project.

- Zvartnots Airport : An Increase in Traffic Volume for the First 5 Months of 2006.
-  Number of passengers : 344 000 (+7800) of which 195 000 arriving and 149 000 departing.
-  Merchandise : 2 930 tons (-114 tons)
-  Number of flights : 2420 (-121) Gyumri Airport activity : 15 000 passengers and 152 tons of merchandise.

- Yerevan - Zvartnots Airport Highway Construction Project. A new offer in tender is open for the construction of a highway connecting Yerevan to Zvartnots Airport. The construction will begin very soon.
-  Railway Project Bypassing Armenia not to be Financed by USA. According to the Financial Commission of US Congress House of Representatives, the railway project bypassing Armenia, Kars (Turkey) - Akhalkalaki (Georgia) - Tbilissi (Georgia) - Baku (Azerbaijan), will not be financed by USA. As known, the European Community is of the same opinion, many political personalities think that in the near future Turkey should normalize its relations with its neighbours including Armenia. The Turkish - Armenian borders once will be opened, the already existing Kars - Gyumri - Tbilissi will be in use, so the new railroad will make no sense. Anyway, this project is not included in the TRACECA program.

- Abkhazian Section of Georgian Railway. The preparatory documents concerning the renovation of railway connection of the Abkhazian section of Georgian railway (197 km long) will be completed by the end of 2006. The construction work will take 12 - 18 months. This project will allow the reconstruction of bridges, tunnels and some of the infrastructures. The restorations and the reconstruction will be executed in two stages : the first phase will be only for the railroad tracks and the railway stations in the second phase.
