ORANGE-ARMENIA LAUNCHED

Armenia’s third mobile operator Orange-Armenia launched its services today. Company has made €100 million investment, opening 300 vacancies and shops, with 13 being in Yerevan and 25 - in regions. "Opening a new office in each new country is the birth of something new. We are represented on over 30 states and have around 189 million subscribers worldwide. Opening a company in Armenia is also significant event considering that Armenia and France have always maintained close friendly ties, and our presence here will help enhance ties with Armenian Diaspora of France," Company’s President Didier Lambard told today a news conference.

ORANGE COMPANY TO INTRODUCE INNOVATIONS IN TV BROADCASTING SPHERE

France Telecom President Didier Lombard added in turn that company had really managed to carry out a lot of work within a short time and expressed gratitude to Armenian government for its support. Didier also said that their company’s goal was to introduce innovations in TV broadcasting sphere, RA President’s official Web site reports.

ARMTECH 2009 KICKED OFF IN ST. JOSE

Armenian delegation led by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan is taking part in ArmTech 2009 forum which kicked off today in St. Jose, United States.
During the opening ceremony, Head of Armenian executive said, "High technologies continue to remain an essential component of economic development. Being leader in IT sphere, we want to advance our achievement in biotechnology, science, nuclear physics, green energy and information. Innovation, effort and active participation constitute the groundwork of success."
Touching on the outcomes of last year’s ArmTech forum, Premier pointed out efforts towards resolving the problems raised, as well as Government’s anti-crisis program. Mr. Sargsyan stressed the importance of infra-structure pojects, particularly, North-South program, construction of new nuclear power plant, pensionary reforms and activities of National Competitiveness Centre.
"In accordance with Armenia’s legislation, we have established an all-Armenian bank and attracted a specialized company for assisting in the development of business-programs.
All-Armenian bank will start operating as an investment fund whose activities will be aimed at concentrating means for implementing programs and raising competitiveness in Armenia. Our vision, however, is more than ambitious - making the bank an institution serving Armenian communities worldwide. All-Armenian bank will thus become the financial reflection of Armenian world," RA Government’s press service reports.
