/NOV 4/ARKA/
Including $248.8 million paid for the Hrazdan facility, of which almost $189 million in natural gas supplies to Armenia.
The fifth unit of the power plant will come online in 2010 July.
The Hrazdan power plant will be working on Iranian gas and will sell part
of electricity to Iran as payment for gas.
ARG’ statement said the company has received a 4,000 kilowatt-ampere transformer and besides a block transformer, two German-made water boilers, as well as Alstom-made equipment for the gas turbine are going through the customs clearance and will arrive at the site soon.

RUSSIAN GAS IMPORT TARIFF FOR ARMENIA TO RISE 16.8% STARTING APRIL 2010 /NOV 6/ArmInfo/
-  Starting April 2010, import of natural gas to Armenia will cost $180 per 1000 cu meters versus the present $154. Armenia has agreed to reduce the tariff by $20 for the next year i.e. to $180 instead of the earlier announced $200 per 1000 cu meter. Rise of the import tariff will result in the growth of internal tariffs of gas for the population and enterprises.
-  The exclusive supplier of natural gas to Armenia ArmRusgasprom CJSC will apply to PSRC for revision of the internal prices of gas till the end of January 2010.
-  Electricity tariff will rise simultaneously. Thermal power plants ensure 24-25% of total power generation in the country, and these plants are gas consumers.
-  In 2010 the new modern power unit of Yerevan TPP will be put into exploitation which is twice as effective as the existing plants. The fifth power unit of Hrazdan TPP will be put into exploitation in 2011 It was reported earlier that this unit would be put into exploitation in 2010- .
-  Since April 1 2009, import of natural gas to Armenia grew in price 40% to $154 per 1000 cu meters. As a result, the tariff grew 40.2% to $215 per 1000 cu meters for industrial enterprises (consumers over 10000 cu meters of gas monthly) versus the previous $153.26. Tariff for the consumers using up to 10,000 c/m of natural gas monthly (mainly the population) grew from the present 84,000 drams per 1,000 c/m inclusive of VAT to 969,000 thousand drams inclusive of VAT (a 14.2% growth).

Second stator for fifth unit of Hrazdan thermal power plant reaches destination
/NOV 7/ARKA/
The stator was brought from Rotterdam and the transportation took 25 days. The fifth unit of Hrazdan Thermal Power Plant (Armenia) belonging to ArmRosgasprom will be put in exploitation in July 2010.
Thanks to the plant, Armenia will add 480 megawatt of effective and competitive in the region electric power to its thermal power capacity.
Hrazdan-5 program is directly connected with construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline.

GAZPROM MAY FINANCE 10% OF PROJECT TO BUILD IRAN-ARMENIA PIPELINE/NOV 9/Interfax/
The minister of Energy and Natural Resources said the total value of the pipeline construction will reach some $250 million and most of the funding will be provided by Iran.
Under this project, gasoline and diesel fuel will be delivered from the oil processing plant in Tebriz. At the first stage, they will be brought to Yeraskh and will then be distributed throughout the entire territory of the republic.
There are plans to build a fuel storage terminal in Yeraskh.
The new pipeline is expected to considerably lower the fuel prices in Armenia. Armenia needs a total of 450,000-500,000 tonnes of fuel a year.
Armenia plans to begin building the Armenian section of the pipeline before the end of 2009.
